Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLGA SELIGER (SCHILBERG) Olga was born February 16, 1904 in Poland. She died peacefully in her sleep Monday, February 3, 2003. She was predeceased by her husband Rudolf and her daughter Else Barchet. In 1925, Olga married a local village boy, Rudolf Seliger and they had an only child Else. After the Second World War they found themselves in Germany from where they immigrated to Canada in 1948 after being sponsored by relatives. After relocating several times, Olga returned to Winnipeg in 1982 after her husbands death. Initially she resided at Villa Heidelberg, then Donwood Manor. Fiercely independent, she enjoyed living in her own suite until she felt her health necessitated moving into the nursing home facilities. Here the staff took great care of her. We would like to thank them at this time for their kind efforts. Though physically limited by now, her mental alertness allowed her to closely monitor all her affairs, so essential to her sense of independence. And she was certainly looking forward to celebrating her 100th birthday in 2004! We are sad that this landmark will not come to pass, but appreciate that she is in a better place now. Olga is survived by her son-in-law Paul K. Barchet; grandchildren, Rosemarie Watson (Ken) of Victoria, Carmen Barchet (Larry Desrochers), Paul M. Barchet (Jacinta) and Marianne Barchet, all of Winnipeg; and great-grandchildren, Mark, Tim, and Tina Watson, Lyra and David Barchet and Stefan Buza; and great-great grandchild Tracy of Victoria. Funeral service will be held Friday, February 7, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., Aubrey Street entrance, with viewing from 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Ave. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
